VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) was founded in 1958 and is the world's leading independent international development organization that works through the efforts of volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. Since then, VSO has worked in over 90 coutnries and placed over 40,000 volunteers.
VSO brings people together to share skills and creativity, in the hopes of building a more just and connected world. They provide local organizations with international volunteers and work in six fundamental capacities - education, HIV & AIDS, disability, health, secure livelihoods, and participation and governance.
Over the past 50 years, VSO has remained steadfast in its belief that the greatest impact on poverty and disadvantage is through volunteers sharing skills. At the same time, they are always evolving and working to stay at the forefront of innovative work in developing countries.
